You can’t just break it in two

Most discussion of secession tends to conjure a progressive new nation of the Blues vs. a reactionary rump nation of the Reds [risible how the Reds used to be the Communists but now they’re the Republicans!].

But Blues and Reds don’t live in contiguous areas, so there really can’t be a division into two.

Bioregionalism would have us divide into ten or fifteen or twenty smaller, more ecologically-determined sovereignties.
