It’s not your imagination.
The reason is because we’ve gotten so far from a grounding in real, place-based reality. So we’ve soared into hyper-modern phenomena such as cyberspace (not to mention actual outer-space), media, globalization, metaverse. You see it (and feel it) everywhere. Rootlessness and etherealness. Surfeit, stress, noise, hyperactivity, hypermobility, over-stimulation yet ennui.
