Why we don’t need to specify a “best” economic system

Re: the raging debates about socialism or free-market capitalism or regulated capitalism or social democracy or a mixed economy . . .

With a “new paradigm” perspective we can say something simple (and natural and healthy and realistic): Bioregionalism will be characterized by diverse lifeways that will manifest in diverse ways of handling the issue of economic relations.

Of course, that bioregional ideal is far in the future. In considering the immediate future, I do believe we’ll need to implement a period of some type of eco-socialism in order to de-fang the ruinous globalized industrial-capitalist system, and thus open pathways that can lead in a bioregional direction:
