Well, that’s a start

So after being kicked out of Afghanistan there will be six fewer US military bases in foreign countries. A start toward the long-awaited reduction.

Within the borders of the sovereign country of the United States of America there are no military bases of any foreign countries. That makes sense.

Meanwhile, we have bases in more than 70 countries worldwide. That makes no sense.

But as of yesterday there has been a reduction in the overall number from 797 to 791. A start toward sensibility.

[the article says: “The Pentagon stated in 2013 that there are around 600 bases overseas. Due to the sensitive nature of the subject there is no comprehensive list of detailed information on the exact number or location of all bases.” Independent analysts guesstimate almost 800.]
