Unfortunately

There’s a “greening” idea to pay more attention to ecology, become better members of the biotic community, and live closer to the earth, more in tune with nature.

That’s a good idea, but it’s so alternative relative to the trajectories of our civilization that only a very limited number of people is moving in that direction … and even, then, the movement is very gradual.

Meanwhile, there’s an idea to “progress” toward the worlds of cyber and meta and crypto. At this point in time those kinds of ideas resonate with cosmopolitan moderns more than the “greening” ideas.
