Toward communities within bioregions

Someone wrote and asked if there’s a relation between the Meetup groups “Ecovillage New Jersey” and “Toward fostering bioregionalism.” I answered that the latter is kind of a spin-off.

Some of those who want to create an ecovillage see the “full ultimate vision” as communities-within-bioregions.

We want to build a whole network of ecovillages. They could model the direction we think things need to go in. Then a network in our area could encourage a bioregional structure to start to be established. On Wikipedia you can read about Cascadia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cascadia_(independence_movement)

That’s what we’d have in mind.

It’s a very long-range vision, but we feel it’s good for people to conjecture about what the ultimate goal should be . . . re: new/old, more sane, human lifeways. In the meantime, it’s a challenge just to get a single first ecovillage built in our area!
