Once upon a time, the tutelary gods of nationalism and internationalism met for a chat. They had a superb perch above the clouds. From there, they could see everything happening on the Earth below and they set to arguing, as they so often did.
Not surprisingly, the left-wing Counterpunch writer comes out on the side of internationalism.

Yes, that has been the debate of our times, but the new truth is that they’re both misguided . . . that there’s a new/old, better/more natural, more realistic, unfortunately-long-forgotten, anathema-to-the-modernist-imagination alternative: communitarianism.
