Tom … you need to understand something: Oppression tends to breed pathology.

The Palestinians are oppressed under a regime of apartheid, occupation, and (in the case of Gaza) siege. Over the years, manifestations of resultant sociopathology have included terrorism, Hamas, and October 7.

As long as the oppression continues there will be manifestations of sociopathology. If Hamas is destroyed something else will emerge in its place. The something else could be less pathological or more pathological; there’s no way of knowing, and that’s not the point. The Israelis need to understand that they will be subjected to something like Hamas, incidents like October 7, for as long as the oppression continues.
