So, so strange
Now there are almost 8 billion people on the planet. Of course, a significant percentage are children. For the sake of discussion, let’s assume that 5 billion are adults more or less in their prime and having all their relevant faculties intact.
It is strange that among those 5 billion there is not a single one who understands monetary theory.
I guess we’re not surprised that the 4.9 billion common folk are clueless in that regard. But how about the 0.1 billion economists and financiers? Isn’t there some extent of expectation that some of them should have some clue about what money is, where it comes from, what it represents, how it ought to be created, circulated, managed, governed? And isn’t it somewhat alarming that not a single one of them does?
Perhaps it’s not a big deal.
