To hear his campaign manager saying, “DNC Makes It Impossible for RFK to Win” makes me think RFK might be considering breaking from the Dem primary process and declaring as an independent.

I hear the Left recently starting to recognize that our goal with the Cornel West campaign should be 5% for the Green Party. It’s do-able … but it would take a perfect storm of eventualities:

* Cornel needs to be able to hang in there to the end, having a thick enough skin to withstand the vitriol and competing demands that he will be subjected to; CW has never been a pol and I have no idea if he’s up to it; extreme kudos if he is
* CW must be viewed as the most significant alternative candidate in the general election; if RFK goes independent and petitions to get on general election ballots then Cornel will be eclipsed; or if the Libertarians come up with a high-profile candidate Cornel could be eclipsed
* if Trump is the Republican candidate, progressives will hold their noses and vote for Biden; if Trump is not the Republican candidate the Great Fear of Fascism will dissipate and many more progressives will feel comfortable voting for CW

It’s quite a perfect storm: Cornel solid to the end, no high-profile alternative independent, Trump not the Rep facing Biden.

I’d say was have a 5% chance of getting 5%.
