Yes, the modern crisis includes egregious levels of inequality, injustice, and oppression. Social and ecological irresponsibility. But what I think (and what’s hard for the modern mind to fully grasp) is that we’ve almost imperceptibly, over generations, arrived at a state of overshoot and hypertrophy that constitutes social and ecological insanity:
