Since the 1970s many girls and women have had a sense of contributing to an important and meaningful project: Progress for Women. It’s a motivation.

But the traditional efforts and roles of men are felt to be contributing to anti-progress … inequality, climate disruption, habitat destruction, etc.

To put it another way: If the society overall is heading in bad directions — and for millennia that’s been a function of the work of men — it’s now a source of low esteem and confusion about what ought to be done.

“WTF, there’s nothing particularly worthwhile to do.”

Feminism incorporates the position that society prioritizes the male point of view and that women are treated unjustly in these societies.

An interesting discussion: How do we square the idea that women are treated unjustly with the idea that men thrive less?
