keep working, anyway

The latest issue of my Green Horizon Magazine is arriving in mailboxes this week.

It gets sent to about two thousand. I don’t hold out the least expectation that it will be read by more than a hundred. Today Arthur Hoffman of Somerville, MA will receive it. Today he will get four significant pieces of mail, seven insignificant pieces of mail, three significant phone calls, six insignificant phone calls, eight texts, and sixteen emails. He will barely be able to focus on any of them. He feels guilty about his backlog of two hundred unread emails. My Green Horizon will go into a stack. The odds of him ever looking at it again are slim.

We live in a world of surfeit and distraction.

If you believe in what you’re doing, keep working, anyway.
