“Biden fully believes that job creation is one of the most basic functions of government.”

Job creation from on-high.

Job creation in the abstract.

During the Great Depression Keynesians said: The federal government should coordinate and fund make-work platoons. Have one platoon dig holes in a field and then move on. Bring in another platoon to fill up the holes. As they are all paid, the money will go into circulation and generate demand for goods and services.

That’s job creation.

Then there is the reality of what work actually needs to be accomplished to sustain life well socially and ecologically. Such needs to be assessed and implemented at the local level.

The former is dumb and bureaucratic.

The latter involves elegant and efficient Right Livelihood.
