It’s actually very simple
Oy, the kvetching re: Should there be a Green Party? Is the “spoiling” of elections tolerable? Should it fold into a broad “party of the left”? Is it too liberal in Europe? Is it too socialist in the United States? Should it prioritize ecological degradation or social injustice?
Etc.
And I hear from friends and relatives: “What are you doing?” “This is so marginal.” “This is a waste of your time.”
But, you know, above all the admonitions and wrinkles and squabbles, the situation is actually pretty simple and straightforward:
* There is a worldwide movement to foster a righteous and sustainable way for humanity to live on the planet. The idea of living “more green” is ubiquitous and has been for decades.
* The movement was bound to have a political-electoral expression. That’s the Green Party. Green politics is here to stay and will always find varying degrees of resonance generation after generation until the happy time when the movement is no longer felt to be needed.
