Interesting stats regarding the world of life

The total biomass on planet Earth equates to around 546 gigatons.

Of this total, plants make up 82%. Bacteria make up 13%. Animals make up just 0.47%.

Humans make up only 0.01% of all biomass on Earth. But among “beings like us” (mammals): Humans and their livestock comprise about 96%. All other mammals — whales, sea lions, bears, elephants, badgers, shrews, deer, bear, cougars, rats, wolves, and all the rest — are about 4%.
