I'm thinking the scales of the institutions of our society are hypertrophied to the point where democracy and social responsibility are impossible. The institutions are remote, impersonal, bureaucratic whether the ownership is private or public.

We need to scale down, simplify, democratize, decentralize. Until such time as that becomes the social reality, I guess I prefer socialization rather than corporate domination. But we should have a realistic perspective. A National Health Service might be better, but it's still going to feel remote, impersonal, and bureaucratic. Greens should advocate moving in the direction of communitarian alternatives.
