I know we have to pay attention to the mundane-immediate

There is kind of a spectrum of social change focus.

Max Sawicky writes from an immediate-realistic perspective. That’s at one pole of the spectrum.

I’m aware that I write from a perspective that resides somewhere near the other pole.

Someone sympathetic and nice can say that I write from the visionary pole. Someone less sympathetic can say that I write from the ultimatistic-utopian pole.

I know.

I’m attuned to Max’s incrementalist perspective. Yes, of course. But the realistic, social-democratic-bureaucratic process is just not where my head can reside. It’s a dispositional thing.

It’s so dull and mundane.

My “greening” process leads to a someday greened society. Bioregional. It’s very far off.

I know.

But Greens just want to have fun, and fun is having in mind that someday greened society.

It keeps my spirits up. It’s a dispositional thing.
