I get it about “the world is too hard” but . . .
We hear quite a bit along the lines of: “I would be loathe to bring children into this world. Life in this society is too hard, there are too many difficulties, frustrations, enervations; too little in the way of support; too much in the way of grief.”
I think that’s fully understandable. The only thing that seems to me like a potential source of hope as the basis for a gratifying human existence is the idea of living within and contributing to a significant turning point:
