Greens gone socialist: What would you do about Apple?

Jul 11, 2021

There’s a conundrum for ya.

Apple Computer is a huge dominant corporate powerhouse. Don’t socialists advocate socializing those kinds of things?

The kids might (or might not) care about the issue of corporate dominance of the economy in general, but, meanwhile, they love Apple. If you say socialize their icon you could lose them to socialism forever.

Whatcha gonna do?

Liberals say: Regulate it.

Progressives (like Elizabeth Warren) say: Break it up.

Socialists say: [what?]

Crazy me says: Deconstruct the industrial Leviathan. Then there would be no multinational corporations, no Apple, no Apple computers, no internet, no apps, no cell phone network.

Only low-tech gadgets. The kids will hate me . . . they’ll kick and scream, but it’s good for them. They’ll thank me someday. You’ll see.
