Good idea to base an economy on casino-like paper trading

The stock market has been volatile this year.
The much-heralded Bitcoin is down more than 50%.

I do believe someday there will be a sane society.

But, anyway, when there is a sane society people will look back at our time and recognize the folly of basing an economy on a paper-trading casino that has so little relation to any underlying real production and consumption.
