From shock and horror under Trump to malaise under Biden

And so I think we’re lacking in the excitement.” Howard Dean has long called for a younger generation of leaders in their 30s and 40s to rise in the party. “The generation after me is just a complete trash heap,” Mr. Dean said. Many Democratic voters feel similarly. Lamenting “a great national loss of hope,” Alex Wyshyvanuk from Annapolis, Md., said he wasn’t sold on another Biden presidential campaign in 2024.

. . . and yet no consideration of an alternative party, even after 150 years of only two trading governance in dreary succession.

Malaise makes a lot of sense. At least America’s got the sentiment correct.
