The Green Party tends to spin its wheels bogged down in identity politics and “woke-ism” in general.
. . . we ought to be focusing on delivering a distinctive message on this key issue:
In regard to the problematic trajectories of pollution, depletion, capital accumulation, and inequality, we advocate a program far different from that of the establishment parties … who always seem to think that society can grow its way out of all difficulties. The Green alternative asserts: “It should be clear by now that things must start to go in a very different direction … toward all of us learning how to live much more lightly on the earth.” We could have a better quality of life by revitalizing our local communities via sharing and caring, rather than straining to produce and consume on the affluenza treadmill.
The current system stresses people and the planet by fostering over-development and over-exploitation, as well as over-concentration of wealth and power. The Green alternative says: “Slow down, scale down, democratize, decentralize. Build the new society within the shell of the old.”
