European reactionary populism instigated by economic stagnation, social malaise

Jun 15, 2025

--

The formerly dominant European economies are stagnating. The conditions of the world economy in the 21st century are: Resources from Third World countries. Goods from factories and relatively cheap labor in Asia. Media, tech, armaments from the United States. Europe is dependent, losing economic vitality, losing population.

Europeans resent immigrants because the economy is not robust enough to provide jobs for more people. The overall stagnation, even decline, produces malaise. There was an era of socialist ascendance (1880–1980)
that resulted in disappointment. The reaction to all that is a resigned support for reactionary populism.
