The ferment of the Sixties called for a deeper form of democracy, a participatory form of democracy.

Ecosocialists must recognize that such is not possible at the current scales of the mega-states and mega-institutions.

Decentralism implies that we need to think in terms of downscaling toward a bioregional reorganization of society.
