Of course it’s a Turning Point.
For years the predominant attitude was all about Progress. Life would be better for future generations. They would know things and see things and have things almost unimaginable to us. Brighter future. Someday.
The idea had been that the progression was from scarcity and a harshly competitive social environment toward abundance for all and social harmony. Someday.
But it was always an abstraction. What was conveyed to the kids was a sense that the someday is not here yet. As things stand now, only a minority of people fully thrive and the program of maturation is all about personal progress. With a high level of enculturation enabling entry into the best possible college, a personal bright future of career, home, and family can be attained. Take care of №1 and then perhaps, once established, contribute toward the righteous business of helping society march forward.
