Another socialist failure

I do believe a period of eco-socialism will be needed to move humanity onto a “greening” pathway.

The kind of eco-socialism I have in mind would be more Green than Red. So the left needs to revamp ideologically, embracing:

* a different perspective on history and its direction

* a recognition that it’s been wrong about the question of “the primary agency of social change” (it’s not the Marxist class-conscious proletariat, it’s the “cultural creatives” who might come from any class)

* a rethinking of the end-goal (bioregional diversity rather than universal collective ownership of the means of production)
