The additional billions that Biden and the Democrats want to send to Ukraine now are a pay-off for the role that Ukraine has played … the service that Ukraine has provided as a proxy.

The idea of the US militarists is that the Ukraine war has weakened Russia, without risking the life of a single US soldier.

The additional money, if Biden can get the legislation passed, comes at a time when it seems pretty clear that the situation is a lost cause for Ukraine. So why send billions?

It’s like compensation.

If there was no compensation the Ukrainians might express bitterness about the position they were put in by US and NATO machinations over the last three decades.

The billions have been making pro-Western Ukrainian elites very rich as hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian young men have been dying.
