Some people say that the most ecologically tragic moment in human history was when reverence and attention shifted from the Earth to the fanciful sky gods.

Paul Gilk has the idea that we might be witnessing “an emerging theology that’s in process of shifting its devotion from sky to earth. That shift from extraterrestrial to terrestrial is the defining and decisive feature of spirituality in our time.”
