a lot of ways and reasons to disdain modernity

Various people, groups, ideologies. Many have a vague sense that something’s been lost.

A variety of analyses, interpretations, issues, solutions: Traditionalism, nationalism, communitarianism. Luddism of different sorts. Some will appear reactionary, some progressive, some right-wing, some left-wing, some “neither left nor right” or “off the spectrum.”

(It was Stalinism, of course, that made a portion of the Left think more deeply about progressivism and more critically about modernity.)
